Produced at DGL Destiladores, El Mayor Añejo Tequila is aged in white oak barrels for 18 to 36 months. According to the brand, it is designed for "slow, contemplative sipping."
Though lighter than many of its añejo contemporaries--and better at retaining its essential agave-ness than most, there's more body and oiliness here than in El Mayor's younger product lines, and the finish retains some fruit while suppressing spice and heat.
