El Jolgorio Tobasiche Mezcal, part of the El Jolgorio Special Release series, is made from wild tobasiche agave. This agave, related to cuixe, madrecuixe and barríl, grows tall and is challenging to harvest, per the brand. The 2019 release was crafted by Pedro Vasquez at his distillery in El Palmar, Miahuatlán, about two hours from his family’s ranch in Lachigui. The mezcal has an ABV of 48% and is produced in Oaxaca, Mexico.
