  • Nose:

Big red wine notes, blackberry, cassis, tannin and a touch of pepper. Creamy malt sweetness, a touch of heat and pleasant sweetness throughout.

  • Taste:

Rich and viscous on the palate, quite a bit going on here. Jammy and rich at first, a good deal of oak swings in to blend nicely, with maple and caramel pairing nicely with nougat and a touch of cracked pepper and orange peel.

  • Finish:

Long finish, rich and a touch hot but satisfying overall. Lots of honey, sweet cream, black cherry and cassis. Rich tobacco, spicy pepper, a good deal of tannin pairs with a great mouthfeel.

  • Overall:

    A delightful upgrade.
