  • An interesting whisky created solely from lowlands, The Epicurean Whisky, is a subtle delivery of earthy malt paired with some light sweetness. It’s not complex, it won’t curl your mustache, but it will give you a nice sense of place for the whisky in the glass.

  • Malt and cereals in general take the third step of the podium. The finish is long and fresh.

  • True to the region, but the Epicurean makes the rest of the range look brighter, quicker, smarter, and tastier in comparison.

  • Not bad but too hot in the finish for what it is. Other than the heat, this is really enjoyable, mustache and all.

  • Nose:

Honey, peaches, pears, vanilla, waxy fruits.

  • Taste:

Thin, mild heat, vanilla, pears, pepper, waxy fruits, mild smoke. Reminds me of a weaker Great Kings Street from Compass Box, almost.

  • Finish:

Short, thin, hot, fruity pears. Faint lime, waxy fruits.

  • Overall:

Not bad but too hot in the finish for what it is. Other than the heat, this is really enjoyable, mustache and all.
