Double Double is a small-batch whisky from Dewar’s with a 32-year age statement. The production process involves four aging steps. Malt and grain whiskies are first distilled and aged separately, then blended and re-casked. Then, the blended malt and grain whiskies are combined for more aging before being finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The final whisky is bottled at 92 proof and retails for over $200.

  • The finish is enduring but sharp and a bit tight, showing fortified wine notes and plenty more of that classic PX character. One to really pore over as it slowly reveals its charms.

  • The taste is complex and well-balanced with toffee, cinnamon, molasses, and a kiss of smoke at the end that leads into a smooth, gentle finish. Outstanding!
