  • Somewhat thin mouthfeel dominated by cinnamon, black pepper and cloves. Vanilla, caramel and buttercream make their presence known with a delicate, none-too-overwhelming sweetness that comes in shortly after.

  • The reposado has a bright agave nose but the herbal note is balanced with caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon. The palate, on the other hand, is quite different from the blanco. It is not as sweet, and the wood plays a significant role. Cinnamon comes along first and lingers as caramel, vanilla, and roasted agave join in.

  • Nose:

Big whiff of roasted agave, much more so than the average reposado. Apart from that, the overall effect is sweet and roasty, punctuated by nice hits of vanilla, prunes, butterscotch and baking spice.

  • Taste:

Somewhat thin mouthfeel dominated by cinnamon, black pepper and cloves. Vanilla, caramel and buttercream make their presence known with a delicate, none-too-overwhelming sweetness that comes in shortly after. There's a hint of cherry lingering around in there as well.

  • Finish:

Oaky finish, came to a close just a smidge faster than I would have liked. Cinnamon and floratily tickle the throat alongside some welcome earthiness.

  • Overall:

This one gets straight to the point with no distractions. Though it may not take any big swings, it presents all the flavors you know and love in a reposado, condenses them down and delivers it under $50. Deserves to be filed alongside dependable workhorse brands like Arette, El Tequileno and Cimarron.
