Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost House Stark is a limited-edition Highland single malt Scotch whisky released by Diageo in 2018 as part of an eight-bottle collection tied to the final season of Game of Thrones. Produced at Dalwhinnie Distillery, one of Scotland’s highest and coldest distillery sites, it is matured in rejuvenated ex-bourbon casks and carries no age statement. Bottled at 43% ABV, it originally retailed for around $40.
Medium-bodied and sweet, with red apples, apricots, milk chocolate, and white pepper. Satsumas, nutmeg, milky cocoa, and gingery oak in the medium-length finish.
There’s little of the nose’s expressive fruitiness – more a vague sense of peach, lemon juice and raisin. Again, malts push through and are supported by both honey and hazelnut, but, this is super simplistic with little development to note.
