Daftmill 2010 Cask Strength is a single malt whisky from the small independent Daftmill distillery in Scotland's Lowland region. Made from single-estate Optic barley grown on the Cuthbert family farm, it was distilled in 2010 and aged for 12 years in first-fill ex-bourbon oak barrels before being bottled in 2023 exclusively for the U.S. It's priced at around $325, and only 2,400 bottles were produced.

Vanilla bean, waxed fruits, toffee, honey, apples, pears, fresh biscuits and a touch of grain.
Rich on the palate, viscous and decadent. Loads of honey, waxy fruits, raspberry, vanilla bean, honey and a touch of fresh baked bread.
Long finish, a prickle of heat but loaded with character: tons of honey, blueberry, apples, pears, almond and a touch of oak.
This is my first brush with Daftmill, but it’s a winner, and I look forward to following them more closely given this first experience. It reminds me of a Clynelish in the modern era minus the sherry and it’s gorgeous.
