DS Tayman Single Malt Scotch Whisky Blair Athol 12 Years Old First Edition is a single malt from Blair Athol Distillery, aged 12 years and finished in Flam wine barrels. It retails for around $89.98 per bottle.
Really feels flavoured, with cassis buds, more strawberries, and some green tannicity, possibly from the wine cask. It's not that it is terrible, it's just that it really feels 'flavoured'. Finish: medium, on pepper and strawberries. In theory, that works, but in practice… Not sure the gentler Blair Athol had much to say here. Now, some aspects will please a few adventurous aficionados.
