Cutwater Chocolate Espresso Martini

  • Distiller

    Cutwater

  • ABV

    13%

Released in January 2026, the Chocolate Espresso Martini is an extension of Cutwater's canned cocktail lineup, building on the success of the brand's Espresso Martini. It is made with Cutwater's vodka and coffee cream liqueur, as well as chocolate flavoring. Each 12-ounce can contains 13% ABV (more than two shots of vodka), 540 calories, 38 grams of carbs, 32 grams of sugar, 14 grams of fat and 3 grams of protein. The cocktail contains milk and is gluten-free.

Cutwater Chocolate Espresso Martini is available across the U.S. as a limited-time release.

Cutwater recommends serving it straight from the can, chilled with a chocolate rim or shaken over ice. Cutwater also suggests several pairings: chocolate-forward desserts such as tiramisu or dark chocolate squares; creamy contrasts like sea-salt caramel bites; or savory pairings like nutty aged cheeses (gruyère or gouda), toasted almonds or prosciutto and crackers.

  • It's tasty and chocolatey, but I could use a little less vodka and a little more espresso.

  • Nose:

Decadent nose full of chocolate shavings and vanilla cake.

  • Taste:

A good amount of vodka comes through, flanked by cocoa powder, light coffee grounds and vanilla.
    .

  • Finish:

Vodka leads the finish, followed by chocolate milk.

  • Overall:

Rich and decadent but quite boozy; the vodka comes through stronger than I'd expect for 13% ABV. It's also much more "vodka and chocolate milk" than it is any kind of espresso martini, as that aspect is very faint. It's tasty and chocolatey, but I could use a little less vodka and a little more espresso.
