Cruzan 13-Year-Old delivers the classic hallmarks of aged Caribbean rum—oak, spice, and hints of caramelized fruit—but feels a touch restrained. A higher proof could bring out greater intensity and nuance. Still, it’s a smooth, enjoyable pour that stays true to Cruzan’s approachable island style.

House Review
Nose:
Rich brown sugar and molasses lead, followed by ripe banana and pineapple. Bright, acidic tones of lemon balm add lift, while faint hints of acetone and ethanol hide in the background.
Taste:
Lightly sweet with flavors of caramel, banana, and burnt sugar reminiscent of crème brûlée. Underneath, notes of rubber and wood spice emerge, giving structure to the otherwise thin mouthfeel.
Finish:
Clean and zesty, tapering off to a dry close with subtle spice.
