Produced in Holland, Michigan, Coppercraft Rye Whiskey is a blend of 6+ year old distilled and sourced rye barrels. Bottled at 90 proof, it retails for around $38.99.
If you like any amount of coffee notes in your whiskey, then this would be a great whiskey for you to try. I can see this whiskey being popular in cocktails and mixed drinks like manhattans. Personally, I think there are better ryes for the value and would love to have seen this bottled at a higher proof given the $45 price tag.
The flavor was pumpernickel rye bread, but giving way to a toasted and more general kind of cereals character as it went on. The finish pushed on past that and into all-toast.
Coppercraft Rye is bursting with flavor right from the start. The entire sip is a combination of traditional rye spice that mingles nicely with a wide range of flavors.
