This bourbon comes from an unexpected source: an American brandy producer. This sourced blend of Kentucky Straight Bourbons is fittingly finished in American apple brandy barrels for 12 months. The blend is composed of 5-, 10- and 15-year-old bourbons.

  • This is a nice second step from Copper & Kings, and I look forward to them hopefully opening the availability of their bourbon line outside of the Bluegrass state in the future.

  • Copper & Kings has made some of my favorite American brandy releases in the last seven years, and it's clear they've sourced great bourbon for finishing, as well.

  • Nose:

Pleasant and sweet on the nose with plenty of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, pepper and some apple butter.

  • Taste:

Medium mouthfeel on the palate — plenty going on. The ABV is pleasant in this nicely proofed whiskey, featuring lots of apple butter, toffee, brown butter, nougat, black pepper, a hint of ginger and some waffle cone. Honestly, really delicious. Easy sipper.

  • Finish:

Long finish full of pepper, baking spice, sweet buttercream and honey.

  • Overall:

A surprise and a welcome one. Copper & Kings has made some of my favorite American brandy releases in the last seven years, and it's clear they've sourced great bourbon for finishing, as well. Super cool stuff and dangerously sippable.
