Clydeside Stobcross is a Lowland single malt Scotch whisky made at The Clydeside Distillery in Glasgow. It uses 100% Scottish barley and water from Loch Katrine, and is matured in American and European oak casks. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration, it sells for around $60-80.
There are signs of youth with an undertone of malt, yeast and herbaceous veins, but they are well integrated and contribute to the fullness of the nose. In the mouth it reveals a stronger character, with a good dose of pepper lashing a fairly robust body in which the fruit reverses the dominance of the tropical part in favour of apple, pear and lemon.
