  • Nose:

Vegetal, damp hay paired with leather and burnt tobacco. Smoke resembles a meaty barbeque with a few peppers tossed on the grill.

  • Taste:

Cocoa, toasted sesame, honey and orange rind. Far sweeter and less grassy than its aromas would initially suggest.

  • Finish:

Oak, paprika and mellowed spice square off against milk chocolate.

  • Overall:

There's a bit of whiplash here between the nose and the palate, giving way to an almost barrel aged flavor that I wasn't expecting. Agave does little to make its presence known, though that isn't necessarily a bad thing if you know what you're getting into. Would pair well with a side of tiramisu.
