Clase Azul Mezcal Durango is crafted with wild maguey cenizo, taking 12–15 years to mature in Durango, Mexico. It follows traditional palenque distillation methods and stands out for hand-milling the agave instead of using a donkey and tahona. This joven mezcal is produced by Clase Azul under the NOM designation NOM-D291G.

Strong swash of sweet and fruity aromas, emphasis on plum, orange rind and cinnamon.
Similarly fruity, balancing apple, pear and pineapple with minerality and a hint of white pepper. Smoke lingers in the background, taking a backseat to a creamy, sugar-forward mouthfeel.
Short finish, surprisingly so at 44% ABV. Smidge of lactic funk and a few more of those tropical notes. Marginal agave.
Not the most complex mezcal Cenzino on the market, but a nice introductory palate for those looking to branch outside of Espadin.
