  • The palate is heavily spicy with a bold apple butter note; combined with some of the whiskey’s youthful doughy character, it eventually comes across a bit like an apple fritter.

  • A producer doing things right lands a swing and a home run once again. Watching future ryes from them with great anticipation.

  • Nose:

Enticing - brown sugar aplenty, alongside pepper, some clove, and a delightful cocoa note.

  • Taste:

Moderate mouth feel. Proof rests nicely - great choice on the bottling ABV. Cocoa, honey, a bit of clove and spicy pepper ensure you know this is a rye. It reminds me a bit of Mexican chocolate a bit - spicy and cocoa forward in a rich, savory display.

  • Finish:

Medium finish, heavy on the cocoa once more.

  • Overall:

An excellent inaugural rye release from Chattanooga. A producer doing things right lands a swing and a home run once again. Watching future ryes from them with great anticipation.
