Originating from the Golden Bay Distillery in New Zealand, this gin is crafted under the expertise of Sue Bensemann, a former chef turned master distiller. The foundation of this spirit is an award-winning vodka celebrated for its subtle vanilla and citrus notes. Championz Gin takes this base to new heights by incorporating a curated blend of juniper, coriander, cardamom, licorice, black pepper, almonds and angelica.

Sweet and almost a touch savory. Creamy sweetness, confectioners sugar, a prickle of pepper, light butter cream.
Light on the palate. Sweet cream, a hint of clover honey, some lemon and a touch of green tea. It’s certainly not overwhelming or particularly bold, but it’s easy on the palate.
Short finish, a prickle of pepper and some ethanol. Light bitterness, heavy juniper and a pinch of grapefruit.
Overall, this isn’t the boldest gin on the shelf, but a good gin doesn’t need to be. The bitterness on the finish is a little off-putting, but the rest of the profile makes up for it nicely. It makes a very solid Negroni.
