Centennial Limited Edition 10 Year Old is a Canadian whisky made by Highwood Distillers in High River, Alberta. It uses soft winter wheat blended with rye instead of the traditional corn and is aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels. It's bottled at 40% ABV and sells for around $25 to $32 in Canada.
Before long though, subtle citrus notes, hints of sweet flowers and savory spices join cloves, cinnamon, hot ginger and blistering pepper on a creamy butterscotch palate.
A clean crisp rye which fairly oozes honey and spice. This is polished and subdued, with the hard rye buffed and smoothed. The spices are light and enjoyable, and I find the balance to be superb.
