Centennial 10 Year Canadian Rye Whisky is produced by Highwood Distillers in High River, Alberta. It uses a blend of soft Canadian winter wheat and rye, and is aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels. It's bottled at 40% ABV and sells for around $26.
Sip it again and you’d swear you taste the nuttiness of barley and the creaminess of corn, though neither was used in making this whisky. Finishes with a pleasant, cleansing bitterness and hints of barrel.
A clean crisp rye which fairly oozes honey and spice. This is polished and subdued, with the hard rye buffed and smoothed. The spices are light and enjoyable, and I find the balance to be superb.
