  • I’m not terribly impressed with this expression. Bucking the enjoyable complexity and diversity of flavor of tequila in favor of covering it up with a fairly ubiquitous smoke note could maybe see some use on the bar, but is ultimately without use to a discerning or learning drinker.

  • Nose:

Smoky yet clean - it’s more of a liquid smoke than vibrantly ashy or diesel-y sort of smoke. Pop of ethanol.

  • Taste:

Light on the palate, pleasant sweetness but the smoke rolls in and covers up all of the other flavors. It’s bland beyond the initial flavors, purely a hint of oak and all smoke.

  • Finish:

Short finish, tastes like cedar, light sweetness and a touch of ginger and … you guessed it … more smoke.

  • Overall:

I’m not terribly impressed with this expression. Bucking the enjoyable complexity and diversity of flavor of tequila in favor of covering it up with a fairly ubiquitous smoke note could maybe see some use on the bar, but is ultimately without use to a discerning or learning drinker.
