Carpathian Single Malt is a Romanian single malt whisky produced at the Alexandrion Saber 1789 Distillery in the Sub-Carpathian region of Romania. It is made from 100% Romanian malted barley and local Sub-Carpathian water, double distilled in copper pot stills using the traditional Scottish method by Master Distiller Allan Anderson. The whisky is non-chill filtered with natural color, bottled at 46% ABV and retails for around $60-65.
Vinous red fruit notes countered by drying oaky tannins, with flashes of cinnamon and nutmeg spice. A whisky for fans of wine cask maturation or finishing.
