The palate reflects more of the bourbon barrels it's aged in, but it is the finish where the Scotch barley notes finally make their appearance. The finish is short and sweet making this a cheap and cheerful dram.
The palate is equally delicate and ‘up,' and quite acidic (no bad thing) with light, nutty chocolate and macadamia nut. When diluted, there's poached pear and charred oak. The finish is effervescent. Light, easy-going, keenly priced. The rehabilitation of Cardhu continues.
This one has almost the texture of sunflower oil! I think it worked indeed, the vanilla isn’t ‘too much’ and I don’t even find any coconut, although there is a little more ginger and other spices indeed. Cinnamon, for example.
