Cardhu Single Malt Scotch Whisky comes from one of Speyside’s oldest distilleries, located near the River Spey for over 200 years. Bottled at 80 proof, this expression ages for 18 years.
Hey, this ain’t bad. Nothing extraordinary, but not something to set aside as a simple blender’s malt either. There’s a nice roundness to it, a more than decent nutty sherry character and a pleasant dusty side.
This whole blend is full and smooth with just enough oils to cover the mouth but unfortunately not rich enough to take proper advantage. The finish is long and thick with subtle honey and spices running smooth to the very end.
