Camus Ile de Re Fine Island Cognac is distilled and matured on the island of Ile de Re off the French coast. The grapes contain higher iodine content than those harvested on the mainland, and the cognac is aged in damp cellar in lightly toasted oak barrels. It's bottled at 40% ABV and typically sells for around $50-70.
There’s a bit of heat in the otherwise muted body, but not enough to make you race for the water pitcher. While it isn’t going to wow you, on the whole it’s a surprisingly drinkable Cognac, particularly at this price level.
