Buzzard's Roost Barrel Strength Rye Whiskey is made from 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It is aged for at least four years in proprietary barrels crafted with the brand's cooperage partner to create unique flavors. This barrel-proof version of Small Batch Rye uses multiple barrel types. The whiskey is sourced from MGP in Indiana, with bottling, aging and finishing at Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky.
Toasty and oaky and balanced with enough fruit on the back end, I gravitated to it more and more as the evening went on, though this is hardly a complex offering.
