The Bushmills Private Reserve Collection is a series of single malts with different cask finishes. This 12-year-old single malt Irish whiskey is first matured in bourbon barrels and oloroso sherry casks before finishing in Bordeaux casks from Pomerol, France.

Grainy character blends nicely with sweet wine influence. A big apricot note leads the way on the nose, joined by honey, graham cracker, white pepper and vanilla.
Apricot remains on the palate, along with plenty of peach, a pleasant malty character and a bit of pepper.
This whiskey finishes long, concluding with honey, graham cracker, oak and sweet apricot.
A fairly simple sweet and pleasant whiskey. Not my favorite of this series, but it's very approachable and easy to enjoy.
