  • This Bunnahabhain showcases how lovely the combination of aged spirit and Pedro Ximinez sherry can be. A good contender for a special occasion dram. It ticks the boxes of having an intriguing mix of aromas and flavours on both the nose and palate and it also holds water really well. This whisky makes me curious to see what the future annual releases in the series will unveil.

  • Nose:

Rich on the nose, praline, nougat, nutty and packed with raisin, toffee, dates.

  • Taste:

A bit abrasive on the palate, light oak, heavy pepper, some salinity and plasticity. A touch hot. Loaded with dates and stewed fruits.

  • Finish:

Long finish, a touch grating here with a pop of ethanol as well, nice oak, praline, almond, nougat and dates again. Raisins and blackberry.

  • Overall:

Lovely overall but not as polished as I was expecting - the heat, plasticity and some abrasive character holds this back from being a beast reminiscent of past PX Bunna releases.
