This is a 10yr aged independently bottled of Bunnahabhain spirit by Signatory Vintage. Matured for 10 years in a sherry cask after being distilled in 2005, this was bottled at cask strength with no coloring or filtering. I've reviewed this before, and was a big fan. It's fun to revisit roughly 1000 reviews later. Let's dive in.

  • Beyond impressive, especially for 10 years old. I was too restrained when I rated this before, over 1000 reviews ago. It climbs higher. I don't think my previous rating was wrong, but this continues to impress, especially given the current state of sherry bombs.

  • Nose:

Powerful cocoa, anise, honey, toffee. Syrupy fruits. Fig, black currant, stewed fruits. Sweet, with a touch of pepper.

  • Taste:

Sweet, syrupy and rich. Plums, dates, black currant. Blackberry, blueberry. Rich, decadent sherry. The mouth feel is impressive, and the heat is very much in check.

  • Finish:

Long, continues the decadence. Powerful cocoa, sherry, toffee and creme brule. Pepper to balance, with nice oak structure - especially given the age.

  • Overall:

Beyond impressive, especially for 10 years old. I was too restrained when I rated this before, over 1000 reviews ago. It climbs higher. I don't think my previous rating was wrong, but this continues to impress, especially given the current state of sherry bombs.
