  • It’s not the most complex Booker’s produced, however it will please those who are a fan of the brand, along with individuals who are looking for a bold, high proof pour.

  • I myself found the Boston Batch on the rocks to be simply delightful with a large cube to unlock this well-balanced bourbon.

  • The taste is spicy and mouth-filling with black pepper, cinnamon, and allspice balanced by hints of honey, brown sugar, and vanilla in the background. The finish is long and spicy with a subtle sweetness for a classic Booker’s experience.

  • The finish is sweet and velvety, with more almonds, toasted grain, and oak. Atypical profile for Booker’s, but plenty to like.

  • This is THE Booker’s to pick up if you see it on the market. This holds the true essence of Jim Beam in all of it’s peanutty glory and delivered with a host of sweet, oaky, spicy and herbally notes that keep the senses engaged from first sniff to the last drop in the glass.

  • I’d love to see some fruit, some florals, or more of a nuanced sweetness, but Boston Batch never quite gets there. Fans of ultra-savory bourbon probably won’t mind, but I’ve definitely had better in this series.

  • An interesting return to Booker’s for me, this release is enjoyable but lacking the richness of some of 2018’s best batches, and certainly the lauded batches from older vintages.

  • Nose:

Rich peanut funk, caramel, praline, toffee and some fudge character. Nuttier than expected, packed with caramel and toffee. Super sweet, funky, nutty. Light tobacco.

  • Taste:

Medium mouthfeel. A bit of praline, some toffee. Not as rich as I’d have expected, but the heat is also restrained. Funky, sweet, pepper. Musty. A lot more peanut than I expected though it’s been a while since Ive had much from Booker’s.

  • Finish:

Long finish. A bit hotter than the palate, loaded with peanut once more, brittle candy, caramel and light cocoa.

  • Overall:

An interesting return to Booker’s for me, this release is enjoyable but lacking the richness of some of 2018’s best batches, and certainly the lauded batches from older vintages.
