Released in July 2024, this edition of Booker's Bourbon is named "The Beam House Batch" for the Noe family home in Bardstown, Kentucky. Here's how the blend breaks down: 14% from the fifth floor of 7-story warehouse Z, 28% from the fourth floor of 7-story warehouse 3, 14% from the fourth floor of 7-story warehouse 3, 19% from the fifth floor of 7-story warehouse Q, 25% from the seventh floor of 9-story warehouse H.
2024-02 pulls zero punches on the nose yet boasts a complex and accessible palate, despite a small and barely perceptible mismatch between oak and sweetness at the midpalate.
All in all, this strikes me as a strong Booker’s batch, and one of my favorites of the last few years, alongside expressions like Charlie’s Batch from 2023 or The Lumberyard Batch from 2022.

House Review
Nose:
Heavy and powerful on the nose. Tons of peanut brittle, caramel apple, buttercream, butterscotch, lovely sweet oak and a touch of brûlée.
Taste:
Rich on the palate. There’s a crackle of spice and a hint of ethanol, but it’s incredibly mild for 62.3% ABV. Tons of caramel, toffee, brown butter, pleasant oak and sweet vanilla cake.
Finish:
Long finish with pleasant oak and toffee; heavy, creamy sweetness; nutmeg and clove; black pepper; and butterscotch.
Overall:
2024 is off to the races with a well aged and lovely Booker’s expression. The blend remains delightfully consistent, and this release is a frontrunner for top batch of 2024. We’ll see if it can hold on!
