  • I had reserved expectations for this apple brandy-finished bourbon but was happy to find it engaging from start to finish, eventually kicking into a higher gear as it develops beautifully in glass.

  • The thick and leisurely sweetness of butterscotch is complimented by a smooth feel on the palate and punctuated by chocolate bitterness and rye spice.

  • ... The whole thing was akin to a concentrate of apple bourbon mint julep, served in a musty wooden cup instead of a pewter one.

  • This Blood Oath Pact is definitely tasty, and unique. While I don’t believe it going to be a life-changer, it does what a lot of finished whiskeys don’t, and shows the character of the finish without washing out the base spirit.

  • This is a strange entrance to the Blood Oath category, but it may just be the best yet. In order to find this hitting home, a love for fruity, spritely brandies is a must, but if you're a lover of brandy, this will hit home. Powerful, subtle, complex, rich and packed with flavor, this is easily a Blood Oath worth the hunt, and perhaps a bit of a premium.

  • Nose:

Apple butter, brown sugar, honey, a touch of oak and bright, fruity character. Complex, there's a bit of oak, plenty of Calvados influence and a heck of a lot of dessert.

  • Taste:

Medium to rich on the palate, loads of honey, toffee, oak, stewed apples and a touch of cinnamon. Pepper, some spice on the back of the throat, oak and rich Calvados influence. This will be polarizing, but if you like fruit forward brandies, this will doubtlessly hit home.

  • Finish:

Long finish, subtle, complex and sweet. Brown sugar, baked oatmeal, stewed apples, pears, honey and a long, butter cream finish.
