  • Overall, a nice finish with a decent length and is more fruity than dessert sweet.

  • The finishes here are fairly heavy handed, but that’s not a fault. This pour is sweet and easy to enjoy, with plenty of character coming from the duet of wine finishes.

  • While some previous releases take drinkers on a thrilling tightrope walk among different bourbons, finishes, and flavors, to me, the 2024 version falls firmly into “just pretty good” territory.

  • Nose:

Sweet on the nose with creamed corn, honey, toffee and a good bit of red berries and some muted tobacco. Jammy and sweet with lots of corn popping through.

  • Taste:

Moderate palate full of bourbon sweetness, corn, creamed corn, toffee and a hint of sweet oak. Lots of red berries, jammy currant, cranberry and cherry. It's a touch muted but jammy and fun overall with nice structure.

  • Finish:

Long finish, jammy and sweet once more. There’s a touch more oak here than the nose and palate, but overall its still an easy sipper, straightforward and packed with fruit first and bourbon and structure second.

  • Overall:

The finishes here are fairly heavy handed, but that’s not a fault. This pour is sweet and easy to enjoy, with plenty of character coming from the duet of wine finishes. While it’s not my favorite of the Blood Oath releases, it’s as solid as it gets.
