  • Overall, exceeding expectations on this one. The metamorphosis between a sweet, soft nose and that bold, spice driven finish is enjoyable and stays interesting, while providing a quality sip. Well selected, Total Wine.

  • Nose:

Grainy at first - like a fresh baked corn bread muffin. Sweet buttery caramel, praline, honey, a touch of creme brulee. Not super brash, the brandy isn't wildly prominent on the nose.

  • Taste:

Sweet on the palate. Light on the oak. Moderate mouthfeel. Proofed well, not too hot. Drinks well for the proof. Touch of fruit from the brandy, a lot of cornbread, caramel, fresh pecan pie and a bold spicy back palate - peppery and loaded with clove and a touch of hazelnut.

  • Finish:

Medium finish. Sweet again, light on the fruits. Proofier here, the ethanol is a touch more notable, but not too hot. Spicy finish plays against the sweetness of the nose and first sip well.

  • Overall:

Overall, exceeding expectations on this one. The metamorphosis between a sweet, soft nose and that bold, spice driven finish is enjoyable and stays interesting, while providing a quality sip. Well selected, Total Wine.
