Released in August 2023, Bib and Tucker Double Char Bourbon is aged for six years in new white American oak, followed by a finish of five months in new oak barrels that were charred and smoked with maple sugar. The bourbon follows the Lincoln County process, wherein the spirit is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before maturation.

Cocoa, cream and honey dance on the nose with heavy bits of char, tobacco and espresso.
The extra barrel time here is pretty evident despite a thin mouthfeel. Cocoa and espresso blend with sweet cream, pepper and honey. It’s sweet and not very viscous — which is expected given the proof — but it’s easy sipping, and there aren’t any flaws popping.
Short, simple and sweet finish. Marshmallow and cocoa hang on and make for a desserty, savory finish.
It's not wildly complex, but it is an easy drinker, and pleasant enough to enjoy. Some days, that's all you need.
