  • Wheat whiskey in general is usually too sweet for my tastes, and that’s definitely the case here, but the added power of a barrel proof release helps to give this expression a bit more nuance and pizzazz while giving the sugar something to bounce off of.

  • Nose:

Punchy at first, the wheat can't be understated here. It's fiery and loaded with sweet butterscotch, honey, caramel and heather. This nose is packed with brown butter and enticing maple.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate, Bernheim Barrel Proof has a decadent texture, silky and layered with honey, butterscotch and pleasant oak. This has a beautiful structure. Caramel candies, a touch of pepper and clove, faint cinnamon and a final hit of sweet oak.

Long finish, it's powerful yet nuanced, complex and delicious. This finish carries for ages, packed full of butterscotch candies, caramel and sweet oak.
