This is an independent bottling of Benrinnes spirit by Gordon and MacPhail. After 17 years of maturing in a sherry cask, this was bottled at cask strength with no coloring or filtering. Let's see how it is.
Honey, toffee, old dusty sherry. Nutty amaretto, creme brulee and orange marmalade. Some tobacco and musty leather. Not a lot of heat, great mouth feel.
Finish:
Short, a bit hot. Sulfur, sawfust, caramel.
Overall:
Really great until the disappointing finish.
Score:
80
