  • Interesting and unique. There’s some promising stuff here, but to my mind it needs some fine tuning to bring some more balance to the palate and to fix whatever is going on with the nose.

  • That sweetness slowly fades to toasty corn nuts then dry peppery spices. Starts sweet, finishes dry, perfect for any whisky forward cocktail or sipped on its own

  • Rich oak and red wine on the nose lead to exotic spices, tingling peppers, burley tobacco, and vaguely phenolic grape skins on a buttery palate. Burnt sugar and chocolate cherries, then a long, spicy finish.

  • The initial wood-driven spice dissolves gently into a finish of Demerara sugar and vanilla bean that again bears some resemblance to a younger aged rum. A solid Canadian whisky for sipping or cocktailing, especially for the money.

  • Overall, this is a surprise. An overloaded label full of buzzwords stands out and delivers a whiskey that’s easy to drink and well worth drinking.

  • Nose:

Light and sweet on the nose, pancake syrup, honey and toffee.

  • Taste:

Light on the palate, but pleasant and full of honey, light red berries, maple and a touch of tobacco and raisin bread. Easy drinking, the proof is light and the whiskey tastes well aged - a great combination for Canadian whiskey which typically forsake one or the other.

  • Finish:

Medium finish, full of honey, pepper, light toffee note.
