  • Nose:

Sweet cream, banana bread, light vanilla cream, toffee and rock candy. Pleasant and sweet, light and effervescent. Pleasant oak.

  • Taste:

Moderate palate, the first Basil I’ve had that really hits like a bourbon. Pleasant sweetness, sweet oak, banana bread, honey roasted peanuts, cocoa and a hint of char and tobacco.

  • Finish:

Medium to short finish, pleasant and light with lots of wood character, sweet bourbon notes and pleasant dessert. Great combo of caramel and char here.

  • Overall:

Well well well, nice work Basil - a competent and lovely pour from the BH family that carries great age, lovely composure and for the first time…no shortage of flavor.

  • Score:

    85
