Decadent, creamy nose filled with buttercream frosting, caramel, eclairs, French vanilla, blueberry pie and cappuccino, plus a really satisfying cherry note, and some flecks of spice — cinnamon and nutmeg.
Dense, rich, wonderful palate. Loads of sweet oak is accompanied by brown sugar, caramel, a big, fatty almond note, dark chocolate-covered orange peel, cherry, watermelon, cinnamon and cocoa.
The finish is tannic, dry and hot. The proof strikes first, delivering cinnamon and chili powder. After a bit of time, this segues into a touch of watermelon candy, toasted marshmallow and tobacco, but mostly a wall of oak.
A fantastic, decadent and confectionary bourbon. It's oaky but not over-oaked. A tremendous release.
