  • Overall, I like this release but it’s not the best New Year we’ve seen, primarily just that pop of ethanol striking here or there out of place.

  • It’s rich and delicious, seamlessly fussing traditional bourbon flavors with a few vibrant new edges. When it comes to finding pours to ring in 2025, this one deserves some serious consideration.

  • Overall, this whiskey is bright and its aromas and flavors are loud and clear. The finish has good length and is gentle for the proof, with cherry, chocolate, and cinnamon fading slowly.

  • Nose:

2025's release is sweet on the nose with loads of custard, plus nougat, vanilla bean, toffee, brown butter, some butter scotch and sweet oak.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate with a prickle of heat. Toffee once more, plus graham cracker, honey, brown sugar and a bunch of oak and pepper. Lovely combo of sweet and spicy. Whew, there’s some heat, though.

  • Finish:

Long finish, with tons of toffee and buttercream. Pepper and ethanol join the punch again, blended with sweet oak, maple and honey.

  • Overall:

Overall, I like this release, but it’s not the best New Year we’ve seen, primarily thanks to that pop of ethanol striking here or there out of place. Delicious otherwise — if you like your pours a bit punchy, you’ll like this more than I.
