A blend of two bourbons — one from Bardstown Bourbon Company and the other from Indiana (probably MGP), this is the April 2023 release from beer giant Molson Coors, which has begun stepping its toe in the waters of whiskey since its 2021 debut of Five Trail Whiskey. This limited release is a blend of two bourbons bottled at 92 proof by Bardstown Bourbon Company. Barmen 1873, named for the Coors family’s hometown in Germany and the year Coors Brewing launched, retails for a suggested price of $39.99-$42.99.

Light and sweet with plenty of sweet cream, light caramel, some honey, faint pepper.
Moderate mouthfeel with some honey, roasted peanuts, caramels and a touch of baking spice.
Pleasant although quite short. It’s simple and pleasant enough, but there’s enough going on to be interesting neat or mixed.
Not a bad expression by any means, although it’s fairly basic. Not the most compelling neat sipper, but could be an excellent, premium stand-in for something meant to be more versatile.
