  • There’s something lip-smackingly good about this whiskey. The character of the individual components can often be singled out, but they come together beautifully.

  • I’m impressed by the depth of flavor that this whiskey has to offer, and quite frankly found it delicious.

  • Discovery Series #10 by Bardstown Bourbon Company is a reminder that even though the company produces in-house distilled whiskeys, they clearly have what it takes to blend a well rounded sourced whiskey as well.

  • I'll be darned if Series #10 isn't a winner, and a pretty unique chapter in their collection as well. This one's worth a pick up - if you can find it.

  • Nose:

Bold toffee and praline, there's a whole lot of rich sweetness on the nose. Spice trickles in after a couple moments, but it's a sweet storm up front.

  • Taste:

The palate is sweet as well, caramels, pralines, sweet peanut brittle and toffee abound. There's moderate oak presence, leaning lighter than I'd have expected but it works well. Some complexity is lost here but if you're a fan of dessert that's balanced nicely with tannin - this is your release.

  • Finish:

Long finish, moderate tannin and a bounty of sweet cream, salted caramel, a touch of tobacco and nougat. Lovely and long, it's an opulent finish.

  • Overall:

I'll be darned if Series #10 isn't a winner, and a pretty unique chapter in their collection as well. This one's worth a pick up - if you can find it.
