Balcones Rumble is a 47% ABV specialty spirit made by double distilling Texas wildflower honey, turbinado sugar and mission figs. Matured in oak casks, it retails for about $47.
That Balcones corniness is apparent on the nose, but it’s a much sweeter spirit on the whole. Only the fig character really comes through, the rest is mainly a sweeter version of Baby Blue.
As you taste, you will find garden herbs, green tea, sugar, and bitter citrus fruits. The finish is of average length and keeps with the herb garden theme with a touch of leather.
