  • Another solid effort from Balcones and highly worth drinking, even when the sun is in full force.

  • Nose:

Bright and malty on the nose. Rose petals, raspberry, blackberry, cherry, oak and mango. A lactic undercurrent departs a character similar to Whoppers candy

  • Taste:

Lots of blackberry and winey notes. Oak, mango, blueberry pie, orange and vanilla ice cream.

  • Finish:

Long finish with tons of blueberry pie, cherries, oak, cranberry and pine.

  • Overall:

Very sweet, fruity single malt. It’s interesting and pretty good — plenty tart and lactic.

  • Score:

    85
