Balcones Texas Rye Eclipse Cask Strength is a rye whisky from Balcones Distillery. It co-ferments with ale and whisky yeasts, then distills in a pot still and ages about four years in charred new American oak casks. Bottled at 64% ABV in a 700 ml format, it is non‑chill filtered.

  • The Balcones Eclipse Rye Whisky is earthy in all the right ways. The palate doesn't suffer from the high strength at all. It's probably enhanced by it, but it does leave so much room for experimenting with water. I've got nothing but good things to say.
