Balblair 15 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Balblair Distillery, matured in traditional dunnage warehouses on earthen floors. It is initially aged in American oak ex-bourbon casks and finished in first fill Spanish oak butts. This whisky is non-chill filtered.
Balblair 15 Year Old is a great whisky, at least for me. I find the flavors and aromas really appealing and balanced. It is certainly a whisky I will visit again and again.
The flavor was, I felt, much simpler. It was grassy and honeyed in the main, with a touch of that fruit cocktail and a dash of spice. The finish was a light one, leaving a lingering dusting of spicy wood.
