Raided Score: 80Drinkhacker By Christopher Null The palate is a bit of a bruiser at over 62% abv, and the sherry and underlying grain notes remain in serious conflict on the tongue. It’s perhaps a touch nutty from time to time, but simply too undercooked to show much charm. Read Full Review Raided Score: 89Distiller By Jacob Grier It's a big Scotch, not at all overwhelmed by the oloroso sherry cask, and quite a good buy at the price. Read Full Review Raided Score: 85The Daily Pour By t8ke Unfortunately too hot for its own good – shrouding many better flavors. Read Full Review Raided Score: 88Whisky Advocate By Gavin Smith Full-bodied on the palate, with sweet sherry notes, ginger, and cinnamon, and developing raisin and prune notes. The finish is long, with spicy coffee and blackberries. Read Full Review Raided Score is a conversion from an external site's score, to our in house uniform scoring system. House Review
Nose:
Honey, amaretto, red vines, fresh baked bread. Light brine. Super sweet toffee and vanilla bean. Amaretto note is really prominent.
Taste:
Thick rich mouthfeel. Very prominent heat. Sweet vanilla, light baked bread. Almonds and walnuts. Sweet red fruits like raspberry and blackberry. Light pipe tobacco. Lightly lactic.
Finish:
Long but hot. searing heat. Mild sulfur, light pepper. Again - lots of vanilla bean, fresh baked rolls and toffee and amaretto.
Overall:
Unfortunately too hot for its own good - shrouding many better flavors.Â
