The warm sweet malt driven nose transitions nicely to a fruitier palate and heartier finish. It’s nice all throughout and is a great addition to their annual releases; celebrating another year of whisky making.
The maturity shows in tropical fruit flavors and a deep, probing complexity. It finishes with chocolate, coffee, candied rose petal, and tobacco-laced oak. Seamless.
There’s a lot going on, but it finds a balance somewhere in the madness. The finish is a bit sharp but nonetheless quite engaging as it invites continued exploration. This is one to really dig into.
