Ardnahoe Bholsa is a 700ml release bottled at 50% ABV, matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled without chill filtration. It is the second core release from Ardnahoe Distillery on Islay, following its 5-year-old inaugural release in 2024. The whisky is named after the Bholsa caves.
Ardnahoe Bholsa has a well-balanced flavour profile of peat, sweet, and fruits. With notes of sherried fruits and chocolate, the Oloroso sherry cask maturation is evident, but effectively balanced by waves of earthy peat and smoke – Ardnahoe’s Bholsa is a great example of a ‘peat-sweet’ whisky.
